In five years, between 1996 and 2001, the turnover in the sectors of software and information technology services in France will have doubled. It is the report of Syntec informatique, the union chamber gathering 440 information technology services companies (SSII) and package editors, whose market should grow by 13.5% this year, mentions Le Figaro. In the article "The SSII will keep on recruiting thousands of people»", the daily newspaper reviews the forecasts of Syntec which announces a growth on the market by 7 up to 10% in 2002, on the basis of a rise of the French GDP by 1.5%.The first forecasts, over 10%, were corrected since September 11th whereas the growth of the turnover achieved with operators was only estimated at 7% compared to 15%, as planned initially. However, the big decrease in price of UMTS licences could increase the turnover soon. As a conclusion, the sector of information technology services should keep on recruiting thousands of people next year, without however reach the 17,000 recruitment planned for the current year.
