The subsidiary of Monaco Telecom changes its name and confirms its new ambitions: to enter the online interactivity and high added-value services era.

Monaco Telecom Multimedia has changed its name. From now on, the name of the subsidiary of the Monaco Telecom group is Monaco Interactive. A bit like what the Lagardère group did with the creation of Lagardère active or Nice-Matin with Nice-Matin active. Shorter, easier pronunciation, this name identifies more clearly the positioning of a company which gathers all of the Internet activities – and not only multimedia – of the Monaco Telecom group.Emphasizing on the "strategic reorientation"Thus, the name "Monaco Interactive" clearly shows the links between the subsidiary and its parent-company via the term "Monaco". Moreover, the logo of the subsidiary (a white diamond with a red trim) comes back to the elements of the parent-company (red diamond). According to Monaco Telecom, it is just to confirm a similarity while focusing on the specificity of the Internet agency."The strategic reorientation should be concretised by the name change and should allow us to enter the online interactivity and high added-value services era", Antoine Véran, the delegate president of Monaco Interactive and General Manager of the Monaco Telecom group, comments."After a readjusting period, Monaco Interactive is positioning as an Internet services provider around the Mediterranean sea with a global offer, from access to online video. Our development requires the creation of new activities, for instance an online directory in the Principality as well as high added-value activities: video, services for the broadband such as the ADSL and the UMTS", Antoine Perry, the General Manager of Monaco Interactive, explains.Four main activities for a global offerCreated in April 2000, the Internet subsidiary of the Monaco Telecom group counts today 26 employees and has a global Internet offer through four main activities. The first one is the Internet connectivity and domain names. The second activity is a "web agency": creation of websites and associated services (referencing, hosting, delegate publishing…). Monaco Interactive, which is a real Internet consulting agency, thus works on the whole website creation chain. Among one of its latest references, the website of Monaco Telecom (www.monaco-telecom.mc), the contemporary art gallery, Guy Heytens (www.galerieguyheytens.com), a Monegasque tourist reservation site(www.booking-monaco.com), whilst ADSL subscribers can discover the "Net's GO" portal (www.netsgomonaco.com).Third kind of activities: e-business. Monaco Center. (www.monaco-Center.com) is the biggest shopping mall in the Principality with more than 50 online shops. Fourth activity which has been less talked about compared to the ambitions born with the creation of TMT: information. The website Happy-Monaco (www.happymonaco.com) is a local information and proximity services portal, with three main items (Economy, Sports and Leisure) and a large use of video. Moreover, Monaco Interactive is betting on the future: the mobile Internet concentrating on the UMTS that Monaco Telecom is experimenting since last June 29th. From this European laboratory of broadband mobility, the subsidiary develops a portal of services for telephones of the third generation. This can make the company ahead in the future telephony.
