Atos Origin has been given the CLIPSAT Trophy (customer satisfaction), Wimba.com (verbal e-mail), the innovation award and Eurecom, the first research award.

The number ones of the Telecom Valley? They were selected and presented the other day in Valbonne's village hall for the association's award celebration. Atos Origin, a SII in Sophia represented by Jean-Marc Djian was awarded the 8th CLIPSAT Trophy, rewarding companies that reached the best customers' satisfaction level (the customers were the 'voters' for this prize).Wimba.comwins the second innovation prize. An award that brought luck to the company who won it last year : Opt(e)way, since, has raised 115 billion francs. New reward this year : the research one given to EurecomInstitute.Jacques Gros, President of the Telecom Valley association, noticed during the award celebration the skills of the winners as well as the ones of the competitors. An additional proof of the tremendous technological expansion on the Riviera and the competences now gathered in the telecommunication sphere. Thus, for the innovation price, the competition level was quite high since some of the best start-ups of the Riviera were among the labels rewarded : Activiarepresented by Franck Lyonnet, Castify Networks, by Jürg Nonnenmacher, Esterel Technologiesby Sylvan Dissonbray, m.Pixelby Patrick Haddad, Odisseiby Jean-Hugues Robert, Waidanby Jerome Chifflet and of course, Wimba.com, the winner, represented by Joahnna Nobili ( see exhaustive list of the labels in innovation and research). However, regarding the research labels, it was sometimes difficult for those who are not specialised in NTIC to understand fully the matter. Eurecomhas won for its research on 'Scalable content distribution in the Internet : parallel access and SPREAD'. We could hardly understand better why the two winners of the Institute, Pablo Rodriguez and Ernst Biersack, had tried to optimize the time of transfer of the Web page, duplicating information on several servers working separately. In this new category, IBM CER La Gaudeis the most important : not less than three labels for a mobile network project of a high ATM output, for a Web accelerator and for the optimization of a 'cluster' (group) of Web servers.Other labelled research : Eurecomon 'the active web museum' with an adaptation of a website depending on the customer profile and on what he likes, France Telecom, 'Aloes reroutage' on the reliability of ATM networks and the Mascotte project in collaboration with the UNSA, the INRIA, the CNRS and France Telecom. With this top high-tech award celebration, the Telecom Valley had already proved its reliability. At the opening of the celebration, the guests have been welcomed by a jazz orchestra The Dixie boys. Between two rewards, the public had the privilege of attending a dance show by the Young International Ballet Rosella Hightower. An outstanding program in a real show full of magic with the exceptional talent of Cannes' ballet that could enjoy the majority of the public…
