Let’s see the stars. That’s what you are proposed from Thursday August 9th to Saturday August 11th for the 11th Night of Stars. These dates have not been decided at random. They have been chosen to match an astronomic phenomenon : a swarm of meteorite dust that is crossed by Earth every year in August. Hence some numerous shooting stars (around 120 per hour) and the possibility to observe planet Mars by eye. For such an event, 349 sky observation sites will be opened to the plublic in France, as against 300 last year. These 300 sites welcomed more than 100.000 people. On the French Riviera, the main animations sites will be in Valdeblore, Antibes, Saint-Laurent-du-Var, Cagnes-sur-Mer and Séranon. Here are the main appointments of stars (free events).-Thursday August 9th: Sky observation with the Novae association from 9.00 pm to 1.00 am in Saint-Laurent-du-Var, parking lot of Cap 3000.-Friday August 10th: Observation night in Antibes (at the bottom of the Garoupe lighthouse on the Antibes cape) and in Cagnes-sur-Mer, parking lot of the North Canebiers.-Saturday August 11th:Observation night in La Bolline-Valdeblore with the partnership of the observatory of Nice (appointment at the espace du Clos on the Festin square); Observation, conferences, exhibitions at Séranon on two places, the village square and the Gratemoine chapel.
