Club Sophia Start-up: what did they become?

Review of the start-up activity on the French Riviera, on Monday July 9th, at the Café of Sophia: the ones who came for the previous meetings were invited to talk about their current situation.

The 19th meeting of the Sophia Start-up Club, which will take place on Monday July 9th 2001 from 18.00 at the Café of Sophia, Place Sophie Laffitte (near the Foundation of Sophia Antipolis) won’t be a usual meeting. First, with the selected theme: “What did they become?” “They” is used for company managers who came to present their projects or their start-up during the previous meetings. Then, with the place, since the meeting will take place outdoors, with no seats, and will be more interactive than usual meetings of the club.The theme attracted everybody’s attention and this last meeting before September should interest a lot of people despite the holidays, which have began. In addition to the news of the club, the start-up activity on the French Riviera in the crisis will be reviewed, as well as what start-ups can expect from Sophia and from a specific association for the young companies. What did they learn from the crisis? Is it easy to find venture capital? Did start-ups bring a modern management? What are the synergies developed with other start-ups? Different contributors spread in the public will deal with all these questions.
