What are the effects of the French economic slowdown on employment ? The situation is contrasted. Le Monde in the article "L'industrie licencie mais les services embauchent" notes that “part-time workers and employees with a determined term contract (CDD) are, as in previous crisis, the first victims of the break initiated in some industrial sectors”. On the contrary, the industry keeps on demanding engineers and executives. But in the meantime, premises of the crisis are still far from services and business, still growing, even if difficulties are accumulating for companies of the new economy which lack financing.Large groups (IBM, Crédit Lyonnais, BNP-Paribas, Peugeot, France Télécom) keeps on recruiting even if it is just to satisfy new needs in new jobs. While the euro, particularly in department stores, should bring a blast of air to interim agencies in charge of providing services to users during the first months.
