At the moment, this is the hot point in the Treasury Department. The question of the prices of UMTS licences, after the first warning shot by SFR, has been officially stated. Even if Vivendi Universal, the parent company, has finally decided to pay the first amount of 619 million euros, after having claimed they would leave the money on a blocked account. In order to better understand the problem, Boursorama publishes a focus "UMTS, le film catastrophe tourne à la farce" on its website. Between the first two allotted companies Vivendi Universal and France Télécom which are urging for the price to be divided by four (4.95 billion euros at the moment) and Martin Bouygues who wants the two allotted groups to meet their commitments, the solution won’t be easy to find.
