It is the follow-up to the case of Nice Court and the implication of the oldest examining magistrate of Nice concerning a personal use of the STIC file (System for the processing of recorded criminal offences): the government will give a legal status to the STIC by order and will reinforce controls allowing to avoid a fraudulent use or misuse. In Le Monde, the article "The government limits the access to the content and use of the much debated police’s file", reviews the matter. What can be recorded in the STIC? How will controls be done? How to avoid that an efficient computer system to search for criminals to be a danger for personal freedom? The new order will give an answer to all these questions.
