Senator Laffitte launches an inquiry via Internet on the licensing of software. ”Software are protected in France by copyrights and, when it is registered trademark, by trademark law. Some companies think that license protection for software is ineluctable and think they could bear it. Others, smaller companies in general as well as many other computer scientists think that licensing software (especially as it is done in America) would lead to the penalization of research and creativity in terms of software.
