MIPIM : the Riviera presents its big projects

The whole French Riviera is on the same stand at the International Property Market in Cannes. There, programs of Sophia Antipolis as well as Nice Méridia and the Arènas will be presented.

A great opportunity to put its big projects forward. The MIPIM, the International Property Market, gathers developer-contractors, promoters, investors, builders and local governments from all over the world together at the Palais des festivals in Cannes. Hence an assured international coverage. For the third time in a row, the French Riviera also presents its big projects there. You will notably find Nice city and the Sophia Antipolis research park on the same stand.Nice bets on the Arènas and the Var plainAt the MIPIM, Nice wants to show that it can offer investment and site development opportunities. The city tries to make its economic advantages as well as its economic and urban development projects noticed. That's why it puts two of its big projects forward. The first one is the Arènas' one : 17 hectares, 114.000 m2 of different activities (shops, services, hotels, parking lots, technical schools) and 50.000 m2 dedicated to the site development of new companies. One of the biggest cinema complexes in Europe (20 movie theatres and almost 5.600 places) will be built on this area as well.The second big project, which is presented to investors and promoters of the show, is Nice Méridia. In the Var plain, it is scheduled to create 150.000 to 180.000 m2 of premises gathered in high technological buildings. This area should become one of the parks associated to the Sophia Antipolis research park. The aim of Nice Méridia is also to work together with other reorganized or expanding areas : the Riviera Studios, St Isidore Sud, the Logistic Activity Park, and Roquebillière (blocks, slaughterhouses, cleansing).Sophia presents programs under waySophia Antipolis with the SAEM (Société anonyme d'économie mixte; a mixed economy stock company) presents the developing zones. One of these zones is under way of realization. The ZAC Saint-Philippe 2 is a site which gives a great importance to the quality of life, with a polyvalent environment combining housing, shops, services, sport complexes and strong added value technological activities. The second one is still a project : the Cistes-font de l'Orme zone in Mougins and Valbonne. Big size programs, reserved for offices are scheduled.The research park, in turmoil at the moment, is also going to present the programs under way. They are eleven, all of them dedicated to the service industry. Most of them are dedicated to be rented out. These are a new generation of offices, which respect new rules in force on the park with 50% of covered parking lots in particular. That will no doubt seduce the MIPIM professionals…
