Monaco: the SBM wants to launch a virtual casino

Monaco wants to compete on the same field as Las Vegas, the gambling American capital which prepares a big offence in virtual casinos. Thus, the SBM plans to launch its own virtual casino during the first half of next year. The project is still linked to the implementation of a precise legislative framework (which is under way). But it has not been threatened by the events of September 11th in the United-States. During the first general assembly of late September, Jean-Luc Biamonti, the president of the Société des Bains de Mer, has said that there was already a competition with American, Australian and European sites. The name of Monaco is also sometimes used in pages as well as in domain names of virtual gambling sites. Still, the SBM wants to resist. They have started buying out some domain names and, in case of the negotiation does not succeed, they are not afraid of going to justice. Several trials are under way in the United-States, the SBM president has said.
