The 9th Science Festival will take place from Oct. 16 to 22, 2000. Like the precedent year, PERSAN association (research-teaching pole Sophia Antipolis-Nice) coordinates this national Festival in the Alpes-Maritimes department. For the edition 2000, several events will be put forward: welcome to Valentina Terechcova, the first woman cosmonaut in the world in Bar-sur-Loup on Saturday; multimedia and internet discovery in Antibes; presentation on Saturday of the future car Cycab in Sophia Antipolis; flight simulation from Monday to Friday, except on Wednesday at Cannes-Mandelieu airfield…
Big research laboratories will open their doors for several conferences: 'the internet by satellites' at Inria on Saturday; presentation of the works of recently graduated students at Inria on Friday; experimental physics on Friday at ESINSA, Sophia Antipolis…The full program with contacts and schedule on www.persan.asso.fr.
