Security on the Net : two big contracts for Neurocom

The first French intregator of security on Internet-Intranet will provide security systems for on-line services of Air France and La Française des Jeux.

Two big contracts for Neurocom, the first French integrator of security on Internet which is still about to be listed on the stock exchange. The group founded by Olivier Erena, from Nice, has finalized a great agreement (more than 10 million francs) with Air France. Neurocom will deal with the whole security sytem of on-line services of the national company and will work on three big sites : Sophia, where Air France’s reservation center is located, Toulouse and Paris.The Neurocom agency in Nice, headed by Marc Brua, will also work for La Française des Jeux. As well, they will have to secure all the site of La Française des Jeux which are located at Vitrolles in the Bouches-du-Rhône.Development in Europe and Northern AmericaSince the takeover of Omi in July 2000 (a company composed of about one hundred employees and specialized in the e-business), Neurocom has become a group. A 350 people group which is still waiting for a stock exchange recovery to be listed on the New market in Paris. It was scheduled for March 2001. However, it might be delayed untill June, since the performances of the TMT securities on the market place (technologies, medias, telecommunications) are not very incitative.However, the company keeps on increasing. In 2000, the firm increased the turnover by more than 100 % compared to 1999 (130 million francs in 2000 as against 60 million francs the year before). “ We want to develop in Europe and on the American continent,”Marc Brua explains. Such a strategy has become concrete late 1999 with the opening of an office in Montréal (30 people), a cell which is in charge of the development of Canadian and American markets. Last year, business outlets have been opened in Madrid, Milan, and La Haye as well, while a first step has been done in Northern Africa with the takeover of security and network company in Tunisia.The agency in Nice keeps on recruitingThis company specialized in Internet-Intranet security wants also to get broader by dealing with e-business applications. Thus, Neurocom is developing e-business solutions about secured payments and is selling its own security solutions. So, the growth should go on this year.The regional agency in Nice (Nice-Arénas) and the development teams in Sophia will benefit from that. The branch on the French Riviera, which is strongly settled in PACA (their teams are integrating security in companies such as Gemplus, Monaco Telecom, Amadeus, Eurocopter, the BPCA, the SBM or in institutions such as the CCI and the Regional Council) intends to recruit about twenty people.By the end of year 2001, the staff should pass from forty to about sixty people. And it could also be reinforced by the ousourcing in Nice of the Netsecure branch (about twenty people in Montréal and as many in Paris). This last project would settled a little bit more Neurocom on the French Riviera.
