Soon it will be possible to send SMS through the old wireline phone

What about sending SMS (Short Message Service), these popular messages for mobile phones through your wireline telephone? The ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute) at Sophia Antipolis has been working on this project for nearly a year now. Two protocols (PSTN/ISDN) were selected to link terminals to a SMS service centre thus to allow to exchange messages with other networks such as the GSM, the e-mail or the fax.
