A few days ago, some people very close to the Internet or not, from Isabelle Bordy from Yahoo! France to Jean-Marie Messier from Vivendi Universal, had started an advertising campaign, with full pages in the press to ask for the unlimited Internet access for 200 francs to come true. According to them, France Telecom’s whole tariffs, 50% higher than in England, give no chance for the Internet « democratization ». And France Telecom owns the final access to users and people have to go through the historical operator. So, on Tuesday October 25th, Christian Pierret, the Industry State Secretary, has taken another part in the case linked to the degrouping of the local loop.In the article "Dégroupage : nouveau rappel à l'ordre de France Télécom", Yahoo.fr reports what Christian Pierret has declared. During the Telecom week in Paris, the latter has denounced the financial conditions made obligatory to operators who will to provide all the services, to the ultimate subscriber, by themselves. Broadband accesses with the ADSL technology are also mentioned and Pierret thinks that these whole tariffs don’t allow private actors to offer the public monthly packages under 300 francs, while the aim is 200 francs per month, it is written in Yahoo. Christian Pierret and Laurent Fabius will ask the ART president to study the new solutions which would allow operators to reach this objective of unlimited Internet for 200 francs that the government has set for September 2001.
