Winter sales from January 9th to February 17th 2002

Winter sales will begin next year a bit after the holidays: January 9th 2002. They will end on February 17th and will thus spread over five weeks, a shorter period than usually. These 2002 sales will be exceptional: this high selling period will happen in the same time as the euro introduction. The schedule has been chosen to avoid the very first days of the euro and to end on February 17th, when the franc will disappear. Moreover, it will not be easy for shopkeepers either. Besides giving the money changes, they will have to give four prices: the original and the sales price in francs and their translation in euros.
