Sophia: research trail for a European delegation

A delegation of five members of the European Parliament from the ITRE commission (Industry, international trade, research and energy) will visit the whole science park and its laboratories. The members of parliament have indeed planned to stay at Sophia Antipolis for three days, from October 29th to 31st. They will particularly focus on research domains dealt by the 6th Programme Research Domain whose report project will be adopted by the Commission on October 22nd and by the plenary session on November 14th 2001: energy, biotechnology, information society.A specific programme was set up for them with the help of Sophia Antipolis Foundation. The delegation will have the occasion to discover a few grandes ecoles such as Theseus, Eurécom, the Ceram, research centres such as the INRIA Sophia, the INLN (Non-Linear Institute - CNRS), the IPMC (Institute for Molecular Pharmacology Cell Biology– CNRS). They will also discover start-ups from the Sophia-Start-up club, the CEMEF (Centre for Material Shaping) the ENSMP, the CRHEA (Research Centre for Hetreo-Epitaxy and its Applications – CNRS).
