Yahoo has announced that the latest GNU/Linux core in the “stable” 2.4.12 version is available since Wednesday October 10th (see the article "Linux : le nouveau kernel 2.4.12 est disponible"). This new core or “kernel” integrates noticeable improvements in the networks management and the USB interface. The first recast of the new core, the 2.4 version, was released in January 2001 and the first stable amelioration, the 2.4.10, was available in September, it is explained. The kernel is the heart of all the GNU/Linux OS (Operating System) as the Red Hat Software. So, the Linux evolution depends on the way the “core” evolves.
