The best hotel general manager in the world is from the Riviera: indeed, Pascal Brun, 42, the general manager of the Majestic Barrière in Cannes, has been rewarded with the world hotel trade Hermès Trophy. The nominees were general managers of large hotels in Egypt, Paris, Berlin and Great-Britain. They were all in competition for an award which puts the stress on staff management competencies, financial results and the commercial policy.Pascal Brun’s career is considered as an example by his peers. After studying at the hotel school of Paris, a career debut at the Plaza Athénée in Paris then at the Dorchester in London, Pascal Brun joins the Lucien Barrière Group in 1984 in Deauville. He is charge of his first general manager post in January 1992 at the “Royal” in Deauville. At the head of the Majestic Barrière since 1995 (320 people), he has made the turnover increase from 109 million in 1995 to 230 million francs in 2000.
