A mark of the current situation and of the job market upheaval: the ESSI Forum, an event organised by the students from the computer sciences school in Sophia Antipolis has been cancelled at the last minute because of a poor number of participants. Through a press release sent on the eve, the association of former ESSI students has announced that the forum 2001 will not happen. It was supposed to take place in the school premises on Thursday 22nd November. This forum will be replaced by a mini-conferences cycle which will take place later on (with, among others, the participation of companies which were supposed to come to the ESSI Forum), it is said in the press release. This Thursday will be the day for the presentation of the Lunalogic company (which comes from Paris) and a series of individual interviews with ESSI students all day long. The ESSI Forum aims at encouraging companies and school’s students to meet. It is principally dedicated to sophomores and juniors who are seeking a training or a job. As well, there will be stands for companies which are partners of the school. During the past two years, because of a lack of computer specialists, the ESSI Forum had become one of the most attended student events on the French Riviera.
