Jean-Pierre Mascarelli didn't succeed yet the grand slam of Sophia. Vice president of the county council, he had obtained in May the renewal of its president mandate at CAD (French Riviera Development). It is an organization for the economic promotion on the county and its attributions had been extended in Sophia Antipolis (CAD was given the charge to take up the communication service the SAEM was in charge of before). Hence the idea to put under its authority the different organizations which depend from the county council in order to ensure a united action.A few days after the renewal of his mandate at CAD, Jean-Pierre Mascarelli took the presidency of the SAEM (semi-public limited company). However, his exact position within the Symisa remained vague (Joint union of Sophia Antipolis). If the presidency is ensured by the senator, Charles Ginesy, president of the county council as before, however, Jean-Pierre Mascarelli didn't obtain the delegate presidency which was before occupied by Roger Duhalde (see article County council: the case of Sophia to Jean-Pierre Mascarelli). The president of CAD and the SAEM is indeed first vice-president of the Symisa. However, he doesn't take up the overall powers of his predecessor at the head of the joint union, in charge of managing the research park. Sophia is wondering on its political subtleties.
